Wake up to the infinite wisdom of the body
Sense your way to freedom
We are so much more than the limits of our beliefs and what we think we know about ourselves. And so much more than the pain that we feel. I’m Gena Rho, a clinical somatic educator (CSE). With a deep background in movement and how the body holds the truth that may be unconscious, held in our painful or numb body, I work with you to offer a sensory experience of your potential freedom, beyond the limits of your mind.

Steady Ground
A somatic movement series
This four week series meets online -Mondays at 12 noon ET
July 20-August 10th
This four week series is an opportunity to build an understanding of how habits and stress take hold in the body in the form of chronic pain, muscular tension, or overactive thoughts. Our habits are familiar, comfortable and help us feel safe - until they get in the way of how we hope to live.
This mini course in somatic movement education will help to deepen your sensory awareness, recognize patterns of habit and offer practical ways to make change.
We do not simply unlearn what we know - especially when we have spent years in a familiar and comfortable loop. Instead, we learn to rebuild trust in our own sensing. With care and attention, you begin to notice how chronic tension or pain can keep you caught in patterns of unconscious holding - clouding thought, limiting movement, and dulling your sense of self.
As your sensory awareness grows, the brain - body connection becomes clearer - and so does your capacity to relieve chronic pain. With the experience of your body from a new perspective, movement is easier, more confident, and steadier than you may have thought possible.
Pandiculation is the powerful technique that is unique to the somatic work of Thomas Hanna. This yawn response, when used intentionally, will re-engage the brain's connection to the muscles. You will learn to work with your nervous system to release deeply held tension, creating space for lasting change and greater freedom of movement.
